Summary:

Moana has lived on the island of Motunui her whole life, just like her parents before her and their parents before them. She loves the community in her happy village, from the farmers growing plentiful crops, to the talented basket weavers, to the fisherman filling their nets in the lagoon. As daughter of the chief, Moana knows that one day the village and all its inhabitants will be her responsibility. This is a bit daunting, particularly as a piece of her has always longed to explore the seas beyond their reef -- something that has long been forbidden. But when a legendary darkness threatens their island, Moana must venture on the voyage of a lifetime to find an ancient demigod and right past wrongs.
