Based on the true story of the Saint Patrick Battalion, a group of soldiers enlisted from Ireland to fight in the Mexican War. When they are treated harshly for their religious convictions, they escape across the border into the enemy territory of Mexico, where they must convince a Mexican rebel leader to let them fight agianst the U.S. so they can protect their beliefs.
